Another wait to see councillors' expenses
The expense claims of Hounslow councillors and officers - which were expected to be published on Tuesday - are not going to be available until January.
In August the council announced that all expenses would be published online from September 1 following a campaign for transparency by the Chronicle.
However, an announcement on the local authority's website this week revealed that the information would be published quarterly, with the first quarter not available until January.
The Chronicle has repeatedly requested for details of Hounslow's highest paid civil servants' claims - which totalled almost £2m in the last five years - but the council said the information would cost too much to obtain.
In a letter to the Chronicle, acting chief executive Mimi Konigsberg wrote: "I would like to assure you that in declining your request the council is not intentionally withholding information, it is simply that the way the information is currently held prevents it from being disclosed."
