southweb01.jpgTeenagers were kept from causing mischief on the streets by activities at the Southville Community Centre last week.

Some youngsters were put through their paces by soldiers on an inflatable assault course, while others were treated to workshops in music production dj-ing, DVD making, soccer coaching and bicycle repairs.

They also put on street dance shows, performed a soap opera and held a talent contest - the winners of which performed each night on stage.

It might have been a rotten night for his namesake team as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Coventry.

But Tuesday night was one to remember for Stuart Blackburn, who netted a debut goal just 24 hours after signing for Bedfont Green.

steamtrain.jpgExcitement levels reached fever pitch at Feltham train station this weekend as spotters and families jostled together for the best view of two magnificent steam engines.

The beautifully restored locomotives, a Tornado No 60163 and an Orient Express lunch train hauled by a Merchant Navy Class Loco 35028, stunned the large crowds as they whistled through stations up and down the line on Saturday.

The Tornado was lovingly created by enthusiasts over 18 years and is the first mainline steam locomotive to be built in 50 years.

Eddie Menday, of Feltham History Group, said: "The buzz at Feltham station was fantastic. I haven't seen crowds like that for a steam train since Winston Churchill's funeral train came through here."

Bedfont's double-signing last week was not the only recent activity at The Orchard.

Boss Mick Turtle last week swooped for striker Victor Osubu, from AFC Hayes, and centre-back Ray Walsh to bolster his Combined Counties Premier outfit.

The youngsters from Feltham District Scouts scooped an overall prize for 7th Feltham Sea Scout Group, the length relay for 10th Feltham Scout Group and the width relay also to 7th Feltham Sea Scout Group.

PD90029-2.jpgIt was another howling Halloween down at the Southville Centre this year as hundreds of witches, wizards, ghosts and goblins crowded into the Bedfont venue for their annual party.

The Halloween Scream was hailed as a great success, with residents enjoying fiendish food and ghoulish games into the night.

feltham-arts.jpgFamilies have been flocking to a display at Feltham Library this week to see if they can spot their faces among the crowds.

The hundreds of beautiful snaps celebrating Feltham Arts Association's 20th birthday have drawn in dozens of people, including local councillors and former residents from across the country.
